Nurturing Families™ Facilitator Certification Training

The NPP–Nurturing Families™ Facilitator Certification Training is designed for professionals and paraprofessionals working in home visitation programs, and in group, individual, or family settings—either in-person or virtually.

This training aligns with a philosophy that emphasizes raising children in a warm, trusting, and caring environment. It is grounded in the belief that children who are nurtured learn to trust, care for, and respect themselves, others, living beings, and the world around them.

Please note: This training requires the purchase of the Nurturing Families™ curriculum, which is billed separately.


🕒 Training Format

  • Three-day online training
  • 18 hours total (interactive and instructor-led)

💡 What You’ll Learn

Participants will develop a deep understanding of:

  • The research, values, and philosophy behind Nurturing Families™
  • The five parenting constructs related to abuse and neglect
  • The impact of maltreatment on child development
  • How to assess high-risk parenting beliefs and environments
  • How to match parenting lessons to family needs
  • How to collect process and outcome data
  • How to implement individual, family, and group models with fidelity

You will leave this training confident and equipped to guide families using respectful, compassionate approaches based on the Nurturing Families™ model.


🤝 The Role of the Certified Facilitator

Certified NPP–Nurturing Families™ Facilitators:

  • Serve as guides for families, creating space for reflection and growth
  • Model the core values and philosophy in all interactions
  • Are motivated to deliver direct services to youth, parents, and families with integrity

📜 Code of Conduct & Copyright Policy

Facilitators and Trainers are expected to:

  • Model Nurturing Families™ principles in all professional interactions
  • Stay in annual contact with their Trainer or affiliated Nurturing Families Center
  • Act in the best interest of families, professionals, and paraprofessionals
  • Maintain the highest level of program fidelity and integrity
